28 (and counting…)

It’s been a week since my birthday so I felt I was overdue a post! I successfully did not become a member of the 27 club, as you can probably tell by the fact that I’m writing and posting this. (https://debbiescancerblog.wordpress.com/2018/11/12/the-27-club/)

I had quite a quiet birthday this year – last year, Mum and I went to London to see the Harry Potter play. https://debbiescancerblog.wordpress.com/2018/11/08/harry-potter-and-the-cursed-child/

The year before, I had radiotherapy (https://debbiescancerblog.wordpress.com/2017/11/07/228/)
and the year before that, I went to Stockholm! https://debbiescancerblog.wordpress.com/2018/11/03/stockholm/

This year both my brothers came to visit for the weekend, along with the youngest’s girlfriend. We had planned to celebrate with a meal out at one of my favourite restaurants, although unfortunately I had to go home early because I wasn’t well enough. Hopefully I’ll find an excuse to go back! (I’m much better now and it seems to have just been a poorly timed blip!)

The main theme for my cards and presents were cats and cosy things – Nathan got me my first slanket and I hugely recommend, especially if you feel the cold easily! It’s so comfortable and warm, I’ve become quite the evangelist for them.

A sword wielding cat sitting on a rainbow unicorn probably says almost all you need to know about me… The rest is covered by my other presents, a Threepio book and a Gruffalo toy! (I’ve introduced him to Arya – she seemed a little bit dubious but he’s growing on her)

No birthday is complete without a cake, so many thanks to my mum for making this – once again cat themed – chocolate banana cake! (No candles, because I’m not sure you can buy 28!)
